Welcome to Linna.K

It all started in Montpellier, France. I had just retired from my company, riki design, a women’s contemporary clothing company, when I started with the renovation of the apartment I had bought in Montpellier, to be closer to my daughter who lives in town.

I fell in love with the Jardin des Plantes, particularly the section of medicinal herbs, established in the middle ages by the university of Montpellier and which is still up to this day cared for by the Medical School of Montpellier.

Wanting to know more about tinctures, plant oils, essential oils and their use in herbal medicine, I read books, talked about it with my neighborhood pharmacist who explained all about purity and eco certification, usages and dosages of essential oils and plant oils. It was fascinating and the more I studied the subject the more I became obsessed with it.

The people who know me are aware of the fact that, before I started my design firm, I used to work as a protein biochemist, more specifically as a collagen biochemist, at UC Davis. As such I authored numerous publications on collagen and in particular about the discovery of the presence of EC and type IV collagen in Bovine Descemet’s Membrane.

After many years in design I felt totally drawn back into the field of chemistry and in particular, collagen biochemistry. I was reading publications in the best research journals about plant oils, plant extracts, fermentation of plants and their applications in modern medicine and particularly in the field dermatology and skin care.

Here I was back at my first passion, collagen biochemistry and Linaa.k was born!

They are fabulous antioxidants, meaning they can fight toxins that come in contact with your skin, lighten, brighten and even out skin tone and are cofactors in the production of collagen.
